"I received mine [Irma Shorell Rose] yesterday!!! It is really really nice. I love it. Very much like White Linen. Great lasting power. A beautiful fragrance and even at the regular price, it's a steal. It didn't give me a headache...what more can I say? It's a keeper, as far as I'm concerned!"
"I love the Irma Shorell Rose Perfume. I never would have expected expect a rose perfume to be so earthy. I guess I expected to be a little more like Joy. But I love chypre perfumes, especially floral ones like this. Thank you for a beautiful perfume at a very good price!"
"I have to agree that the Irma Shorell Rose Perfume IS wonderful. I think the oakmoss in the base is what makes it so appealing to me – I’m a Chypre addict, or maybe that’s an Oakmoss addict. And it does come across as a “bouquet” of scents to me, its not all rose, but the rose is clearly evident."
"I see a White Linen similarity during the initial drydown, but as the day wears on more of the turkish rose develops on me. I wore this to bed last night, and the fragrance was very rosy when I woke up. It also "effuses" (is that the right word?) on me."
"I want to compliment you on the Shorell Rose perfume. It's beautiful and I love it. I recommend it to anyone looking for a rich and lovely fragrance. Kudos!"
"Not being a rose expert I will defer to others, but I like it. It's a soft rose -- seems the mid notes remind me of a soft White Linen scent."
"The word “nuzzley” is used in the description, and I’d use that term for “Rose”. I think it triggers the nuzzle response. If anybody ordered this and doesn’t like it, send it my way!!!"
"This one does not remind me of "White Linen" on my skin, the way C&E "Damask Rose" does. Irma Shorell "Rose" is much rosier to me. It's lovely by itself, but it's also wonderful as an "overlay" fragrance to amplify the rose note in anything else. I have some Bahrain "Joy" that was sooo disappointing. Smells nothing like the real "Joy" in any incarnation. The Bahrain "Joy" is like a light musk fragrance and nearly colorless. So I started playing with this by adding Indian Gulab (Rose), Tunisian Jasmine, a few squirts of "Evelyn" & Yardley's Lily of the Valley, and a touch of Saraswati Musk for color. (I love playing at being a perfumer!) Well, all of this did a great deal to improve the Bahrain "Joy" (I was lucky this did not turn into skunk oil.) So I put some of the "improved" Bahrain "Joy" on, then sprayed the Irma Shorell "Rose" over it and MAGIC! It's beautiful! This is going to be fun."
"I loved it immediately, and yes, to my nose, it smelled enough like White Linen to fool me if I was blindfolded. This is beautiful stuff."
